Lenovo Laptops Battery not detected, Battery Not Installed- Windows 7

Early today morning I ran up to this complaint on my Lenovo Laptop:
Battery Not detected and further when I checked with the Power Manager it showed, Battery Is Not Installed. 

This was scary as I was on my way for field visits and without a Battery I couldn't think much especially during the month ends. 
Googling did not help either. The forums were full of information which was mutually opposing, but I needed a solution. 
I worked around with data obtained from the sites and concluded on a possible solution. And it was:

Installing the Power Manager for Windows 7. And Voila the fix worked. 
How to fix it:
  1. Download the Power Manager file from : 
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-70601
  1. Click on the Power Manager hfu406ww.exe

  1. Download the file (preferably to desktop for easier detection) and double click to install it. 
  2. The system would request for restarting. 
  3. Restart the Laptop.
  4. And Voila! You have the problem fixed
Please follow the steps and the problem will be fixed.

    last night i got problem with my lenovo laptop ,
    it shows that battery is not detecting and when i unplugged charger it became off.
    i have window 8 on my laptop ,

      Hello Anisa,
      First and foremost tons of apologies for the delayed response. I was on and off the computer for a while. Coming to your concern, there are 3 possibilities-
      1.The Energy Management of Lenovo might have an issue. Uninstall Lenovo energy management, re-fix the battery. The, please charge the battery completely. If the battery is Ok, the charging should happen. Finally restart the laptop and install Lenovo energy management software again. The Energy Management for Windows 8 can be downloaded from this direct link-http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/em8.0.2.5.exe
      2. Resetting the power system- Not tested by me though- But worth a try-Unplug the charger from the laptop, remove the battery. With the battery out and the unit unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Replace battery and plug in charger, turn computer on
      3. Last but not the least- The Battery might be dead
      Please check the 3 steps and let me know. And for others reading this post, may please submit their submissions for Anisa's query.

      I tried the installation of the Power Manager to no avail. However I just tried Step 2 above (resetting the power system), and it worked! You had mentioned that you hadn't tested it, so I'm commenting to say it worked -- thanks very much!

    Exactly this version does that battery thing on my notebook... I tried to reinstall it twice but it didnt worked... :/

    My is a lenovo ideapad z510 laptop.I have problems in wrong notification of exact charge remaining in the battery and not charging to 100% and stops at 99%.
    After doing some research,i was shocked to see that the designed capacity of my battery is much higher than its full charged state.Also when i tried to manually calibrate the battery,i found that the battery is able to give supply for 40 mins despite reaching low battery level(7%) please help.

    Thanks a million Anand! I have just sold an X250 on ebay and upon final checking, it would not detect the battery. Glad I found this...RESETTING the power by holding the power button down for 30 seconds did the trick! Thanks!!
